I'd say that context and community are the key themes that ran through the conference; sometimes technology is more about social issues than technical ones.

Hi Claire, yes - you're quite right that the Digital Divide is still a real issue between and within societies across the world. Thanks for the BBC link! Mark

Hi Mark, Michael and all,
I agree with Mark about the sense of enthusiasm that permeated the conference, - I certainly came away buzzing with new ideas.
One thing that did emerge however, was the enormous difference that exists between educational institutions in terms of resources, - some of us might be fighting to get broadband whereas others may have no electricity!
I happened to see some coverage on the BBC about the "One child, one computer" campaign: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/click_online/6962035.stm - very interesting, although it seems they will run on traditional current rather than solar power as I had imagined.

Hi Michael, thanks for your comments. I believe all the conference handouts and other materials will eventually be posted on the Learning Technologies pages. In the meantime, I can email you a copy of the handout - but unfortunately, I don't have an mp3 version of my talk ... as you discovered! Cheers, Mark

Me again - just realised that the mp3 in http://e-language.wikispaces.com/mp3 has nothing to do with an audio file! Oh well. Is there a link to your "“Talking to the digital natives: Building connections and community on web 2.0” paper somewhere? Had a browse around the above URL but couldn't see it.

I'd also like to know more about Michael Cheng's session......I missed that too.
